Kings Langley v Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 10 Red on Sun 13 Jul 2008 at 9:00
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Won Berkhamsted won by 37 runs

Match report The U10s win at Kings Langley guaranteed them a place in the Herts League U10 quarter finals, but the game was a lot closer than the score suggests.

Despite the early start the boys looked really up for it and they produced an impressive display of quality bowling, catching and fielding to leave Kings Langley on 188 for 8. Ted Stanford took three wickets in a blistering spell, Harvey Lewis picked up two, and Ben Mackay and Harry Ormerod one apiece. Jonathan Butle-Caddle and Jack Filer caught the eye in the field and it was good to see some accurate bowling from James Wilton and a good over of spin from George Lewarne. With a modest total to defend, Kings Langley needed to bowl well and they did just that - Berko looking decidedly uncomfortable against a very accurate attack. The boys managed to keep the score ticking over but lost wickets a regular intervals and it was only in the last couple of overs that they made the game safe. A close call, but a win nevertheless. Onwards and upwards.
