Match report The Under 12s finally got under way following a rained off week with a comfortable win against West Herts. West Herts employed an unusual rotation system (with our permission) with 13 fielders coming on and off the field like yo-yo's. Although this made getting through 20 overs painstaking it didnt effect the Berko batters who after a steady start accelerated to reach 123 for 4, an excellent effort. Pick of the batting was a superb partnership of 67 between Matt Hopkins and Jonathan Harvey. Hoppy was elegance personified as usual with flowing drives and pull shots, reaching 22 before being bowled - Jonny more aggressive, hitting a huge six to get going and then racing to 31 before retiring. There was a late flurry of runs from James Lagdon and Calum Miles who nudged and nurdled another 30 to set a challenging target.

Berko as per previous seasons were loud and enthusiastic in the field, led by new captain Edward Butler-Caddle they ran through the West Herts batters in ruthless fashion - bowling the away team out for 45 despite a determined 17 from Rawbone. All the bowlers seemed to get a lot of swing with the old ball and in particular Josh Roberts, who took 2 for 1, was all but unplayable. Butler-Caddle took 2 in 2 as did Calum Miles to finish off the match. Matthew Hopkins took 3 catches and one wicket to round off a fine all round performance.
