Match report With the youngest bowling attack ever taking to the field (until James came on to bowl), Berkhamsted did a great job in restricting Boxmoor to just 117 in the 40 overs. Jess struck in her first over to get the oppo skipper first ball but then a partnership built around dodgy running, dropped catches and chips into gaps took the score past 40 before Will, Jake and James all chipped in to peg it back. A great direct hit by Andy and another smart run out by Daniel meant the skipper was happy going into tea.

The skipper wasn't happy after tea as he perished early alongside Chrispin junior but the old hands Andy and Tim steadied the ship to take us to within 30. Then just as the first team came to see a proper game of cricket, chaos ensued. Tim missed a straight one (apparently) to be given LBW, Miles edged to slip in the same over and Andy conspired to run out James who hadn't faced a ball before chipping one up to mid on and Peps prodded to slip. 5 wickets for 5 runs with Oscar and Jess under instruction to settle it all down and nudge a few singles. Jess did as she was told (is it a girl thing), Oscar whipped some boundaries through square leg (a boy thing) to set up victory. There was one more twist as Oscar edged behind needing 3 to win, Will slashed one just over point to draw the scores level and then pushed one through the covers for a quick single to win the game with plenty of time to spare.

A nail biting encounter that shouldn't have been.....!
