Match report Almost the match that went pear-shaped and a good lesson in not being complacent. At one stage it looked like this game would be over in 30 minutes, Harpenden were in dire trouble at 7 for 4 and then 11 for 5 with Josh Roberts doing his usual stump dismantling trick and Ed Sibley and Calum Miles clinging onto really tough catches. Then Berko took their foot off the gas and through a mixture of some wides, no-balls and some good ball striking by harpendens tail enders the score clambered up to 53 all out, Calum Alexander taking 2 wickets and Roberts finishing with 3 wickets for just 2 runs.

Still, "no problem" we thought until we came up against 2 bowlers bowling slow swinging deliveries which simply no-one could connect with. After 7 overs we had stumbled to 12 for 2 and were facing a humiliating defeat. We staggered onto 29 for 5 and then finally Joseph Atkins and Josh Roberts restored some sanity by pushing singles and twos, Atkins finishing things off with a lovely lofted drive for 4, the shot of the match. In the end we won with 6 overs to spare but this certainly wasnt easy viewing!
