Match report The Saturday 2nd XI recorded their second league win of the season over Chorleywood 2s.

We won the toss and with the wicket still quite wet had no hesitation in asking Chorleywood to bat first.

This decision proved the right one with John Ezard bowling some unplayable deliveries and picking up two very cheap wickets within the first couple of overs. He was also very ably supported by the controlled bowling of Darren James, the latter bowling 24 overs for a miserly 42 runs.

Our bowling throughout was exceptionally tight and restricted Chorleywood to a score of 112 all out in 52 overs. The fielding however was pretty poor with the Chorleywood opener being dropped six times!! The wickets went to James four, Ezard two, Ian Dent two and Paul Langley one.

Our reply saw us lose 4 wickets in achieving the runs required.

Dave Sherjan contributed well again with a classy 33, and Phil Brown was left standing 'on one leg' to see us home to a six wicket victory.

This win puts us in the top half of the league and we travel to bottom club Luton next week.
