Match report An excellent win for the 4s on a baking hot day. West Herts batted first with our double Tom opening pair bowling economically but without any luck. Charlie and Phil made the breakthrough and once Will had switched to bowling up the hill he clean bowled 3 more. Tom H returned to pick up a couple more wickets and on a fast outfield in the heat we did well to restrict them to 202.

After a good tea and a glance at the tv with England sliding to a defeat at the Oval we went out to bat. We lost a couple of early wickets but then Tom Clarke and Josh Todd batted really well together and put is in a great position at 96-2 after 25 overs. Josh fell one short of a well deserved half century, a nifty piece of jug avoidance. Charlie and Ross both made useful contributions in the middle order and when Phil and Will came together there was still plenty to do however they both batted calmly and positively to see us through to victory with 10 balls to spare.

This was the 4s fifth win of the season and they rise to 7th in the league - well done to skipper Peps and his troops.
