Match report It is a long, long way. There second ground is a local college. Ground and tea were fine. Smell in the changing room less so.

Lost toss and they elected to bat. 9 for 3 and visibly shaken up facing Messers Atkins and Mackie. There least able batsman scored a 50, middling only one shot (for four). We allowed them to put on 96 for the fourth wicket - skip to ponder what should have been done differently. There skipper, best player and all round decent bloke scored a rapid 50 not out. 175 all out on a 250 wicket.

Unfortunately we didn't manage to bat like it was a 250 wicket either. We made heavy weather of it but thanks to a very fine and mature 55 not out from George and a stand of 49 with TP, we brought it home with a couple of wickets to spare.

It was a long, long way back home, although slightly quicker than going out. 9 hour round trip. Hertford IV next week.
