Berkhamsted Cricket Club Sunday XI v The Edwanderers on Sun 25 May 2014 at 2pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Won by 10 runs

Match report Lovely day for cricket following the washout on Saturday. With the Edwanderers a couple players short, we sent out our spies (Andre and Guy) to ensure Berko maintain their 100% Sunday record.
Berko won the toss and decided to bat first. Luke and Darren opened up the batting and got off to a good start making a 50 partnership. Darren was then bowled looking for the big shot against their West Indian spinner. Will came out and looked to attack from the start, a couple good strokes followed by a swipe across the line found him bowled. Dan fell to a great direct hit from the oppo captain, looking for the 4th run off a wide. Ed played well for his 12, he fell to a fairly suspicious LBW decision. Luke had now passed his 50 and was looking to accelerate, Owen, Rob and Tom all played supporting roles looking to find the boundary between the 7 fielders on the rope. Luke was dropped by our top spy, Guy. The final ball saw Toby face his first ball for the club, a clean strike over the bowlers head, certain four... had the bowler not taken a great one handed catch... Berko had set a target of 203.

Kian and Tom opened up the bowling. Both bowled very tight allowing their opening pair singles. Guy looked to change this in Kians last over and found the boundary with a couple mid-wicket heaves. Owen and Toby came on second change and it wasn't long before Guy sent one straight up, Luke wasn't going to repay the favor, catch taken and Toby's first wicket for Berkhamsted. Soon after the other opener was gone, a great one handed 'pluck' from Derek, from Owens bowling. With drinks approaching it was time for Derek, one stumped, one bowled (through the legs) left us is a promising position at drinks. The oppo needed roughly 9 runs an over. Another wicket for Derek and some tight bowling from Will put the pressure further on the Edwanderers. Two bowled wickets for Will brought in Andre to join the well set West Indian, who had now started to attack. A number of big hits for six made the game very tight towards the end. Owen bowled the final over with all fielders on the boundary, he kept them down to singles. Game won by ten runs.
