Match report We went into this match needing just 2 points to win the group and after an initial good partnership by Langleybury openers we secured the points we needed with wickets from Jamie, Jonathan and Josh. Jamie bowled an excellent spell of 3-12 absolutely tying the batsmen in knots and Jonathan removed 2 good batsmen.

For the first time this season our batting misfired badly as the opposition cleverly used the shredded ball on a wearing pitch with slowish bowlers which made shot making difficult. As we tried to force the pace we lost quick wickets and in reality the game was gone after 8 overs. Ted was badly hurt and had to retire following some dangerous high bowling from the opposition quick which prompted an unfortunate exchange between the 2 umpires. He bravely came back into bat later and hit our first boundary of the innings! Only George and James made it into double figures and in the end we were well short of the target.

Not a great way to end a very successful league campaign which saw us win the group with 8 wins, 1 defeat and 1 rained off. We now await details of our quarter final opposition.
