Match report A day to forget for the 4s as we travelled to Hitchin. Skip Furlong promptly lost the toss and we were swiftly inserted. A combination of bad shot selection and tight bowling led to a rather quick batting collapse, with only Harvey Lewis and Keith Preedy doing themselves any justice, the former acquitting himself very well against some top opening bowling. Even on a bowler friendly pitch, 54 all out was way short of par, and we were left with only the hope of adding some respectability to the result when we went out to bowl.
Each bowler did well, particularly young Will Goodwyn, taking two well deserved wickets. However, 54 was always short and they were able to knock of the runs with 40 odd overs to spare. We were left to reflect on the result with a superb tea, and look forward to a home fixture next week against Botany Bay.
