An excellent all round display by Berkhamsted. Bill & William showed the way with disciplined batting despite an early setback. Oscar and Joseph, again lost a wicket early but consolidated to take the score to 223 after 8 overs. The partnership of the day, though, belonged to Jess and Daniel - both struck a boundary and put on 30 without getting out. Tom also hit a boundary as he and Marcus added 22 but lost a couple of wickets. Objective 1 achieved - no run outs!

In the field Bill and William again set the tone, conceding just 1 run off the bat with Bill clean bowling their opener. Oscar, limping in off a short run, and Joseph, whose run up got longer as the over went on, kept the score in check with a number of dot balls. Daniel then snaffled a wicket first ball as Bill did well running from behind the stumps to take a catch. Jess didn't bowl a wide or no ball and also finished the spell with a wicket. This third pair conceded just 10 runs and took 2 wickets to halt any scoring. Tom bowled with pace and Marcus controlled his spin but the last Watford pair kept their wicket intact. Berkhamsted came out comfortable winners thanks to their run scoring ability with the bat and their discipline in the field.
