Match report A really tight game between two evenly matched sides on what may prove to be the only dry day of the week.

Tring won the toss and put Berkhamsted into bat and with some tidy bowling and sharp fielding kept the runs off the board. However Christian and Tomas (16 & 10 respectively) started to get things moving with a few boundaries but both fell soon, caught by the slower balls before they could get into big runs. Kian (16 no and Toby 14) then produced a few much needed boundaries late on to stretch the total to 87 for 7.

In response, Tring seemed to be well in control after 15 overs and looked to be on course for a comfortable win but some tight bowling in the latter stages by Berkhamsted and a fortunate run out (for Berkhamsted) of one of the Tring big guns gave the boys some hope. Sure enough the squeeze was on and the run rate dropped and suddenly we were back in the game. With Tomas, Kian and Jake wrapping up the overs the crowd were on their feet as the game swung either way with each dot ball and single. So there we were with the scores tied on 87 with one ball to go……….. and Tring scrambled home to the despair of the Berkhamsted boys.

A wonderful game with lots to be positive about given the first game of the season.
