Berkhamsted Cricket Club Won by 85 runs

Match report The final of the U14B league was played out between the table topping Kings Langley and second placed Berkhamsted. Langley won the toss and put Berkhamsted into bat. Casey O'G made his intentions clear by taking 12 off the first 3 balls. He and Angel rotated the strike brilliantly putting the field under pressure and then hitting over and through when the field came up. They both completed their 50's and retired to good applause from a generous crowd. Sibley, Stanford and Holdroyd continued in the same fashion with Holdroyd in particular sending the fielders into the surrounding undergrowth to retrieve the ball. 161 for 2 always looked a strong target and so it proved as Kings Langley lacked the firepower to take on the disciplined Berkhamsted team. Bowling and fielding were exemplary as is the norm with this team and soon wickets fell as batsmen chanced their arms. Ben Chalmers spinning it more than a Dyson dryer was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets but each of the bowlers concentrated on line and length giving the batsmen no room for error.

On a personal note boys I'd like to say how proud I am to have managed you this season you are a credit to the club and to your parents.
