Match report BCC put in a workmanlike performance to see off a stubborn Pirton team in the quarter final on a drizzly sunday afternoon. We got off to a very positive start with Mike and Max punishing the bad ball until Max was run out by a sharp throw. Will Steed announced himself with his customary 6 and then battered the bowling to all parts, Oli OG also coming to the party with a belligerent 39. After 20 overs we looked set fair to post a huge total but then their keeper Sam Davies, fed up with the bowling efforts of his team, took off his keeping gloves and bowled an extraordinary "frog in a blender" spell of medium-fast pace taking 6 for 26 to take out our middle and lower order and see us bowled out for 233.

After tea Seb tore down the hill but with the footholds disintegrating in the drizzle skipper Antonelli sensibly turned to the spin twins Romit and Huw who choked the life out of the Pirton middle order taking 6 wickets between them. It looked like Pirton would be bowled out for under 100 but the last pair would not be budged and nearly made a 50 partnership before succumbing to Mike's offspin.

Semi final will be away from home against West Herts or Tring. Date to be announced.
