Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 12C v West Herts on Wed 27 Apr 2011 at 545 pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost West Herts won by 10 wickets

Match report BCC vs West Herts 27 April - West Herts win by 10 wickets

The boys were a little rusty and we were well beaten by a talented West Herts side. We were put into bat first and managed to hold out for our
20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process but only managing 47 runs.
West Herts looked determined from the start and racked up the required runs without loss in 9 overs.

There were definitely some positives on the batting side - William D and Connal put up a dogged fight for 10 overs or so (definitely our longest partnership!), including a majestic 4 for Connal (up the slope if I remember rightly) and top score for Wlliam on 5. Generally quite pleased with the batting performances, we just weren't quite aggressive enough on picking up quick singles - it was probably good for the boys to see how the other team did this later on. Good knocks from Charlie, Callum and Zac, new recruit Eddie a bit unlucky with a stumping on the last ball.

In the field we were clearly a bit short of match practice. Our bowling was nowhere near the standard we got to last year (27 of their 48 runs were extras) and we made some basic errors in the field. Still, some fine keeping from William S and some goods outfield stops from Eddie, well done boys!. I'm sure things wll improve!
