Scorecard

Berkhamsted Cricket Club U14B v Boxmoor on Tue 03 May 2011 at 545pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Won by 4 wickets

Match report Berkhamsted were fortunate to squeak past Boxmoor following a lacklustre performance. Boxmoor won the toss and batted first, the innings starting with 2 wides which seemed to set the tone for possibly our worst bowling and fielding performance for a couple of years. The main beneficiary was Boxmoor opener Robert Smith who punished some wayward legside bowling in top scoring with 36. Next top scorer (by some margin) was extras with 30 which included 17 wides. Only Calum Alexander 4-1-12-1 could be pleased with his performance and Rob Prunty took another terrific running catch. Hamish Jarvie bowled with good pace without much luck.

Our openers Calum Alexander and skipper Jack Wiggs made a positive start and both looked set for 50s before falling for 25 each. Thereafter it was a struggle but Adam Cowland with 23 kept the scoreboard ticking so that we needed 8 off the last 2 overs which a combination of Lagdon, Atkins and Lewarne just managed with 4 balls to spare.

We will need to improve our performance considerably next week against potten End.
