Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost KL won by 35 runs

Match report A comprehensive defeat for the U14s against top of the table Kings Langley where the margin of victory would have been greater had not KL bowled their occasional bowlers for fun. Our fielding and bowling effort was once again sub-standard, especially the insistence on bowling short to quality batsmen resulting in KL hitting 21 boundaries on the way to a big total. The lack of fielding practice this season is all too apparant with misfields, dropped catches and poor throws now the norm.

The batting crumbled once again after some early flourishes from Hauck and Hopkins, with 5 wickets going down for 35 including 2 horrible run-outs before Casey O'Gorman returned some sanity with an excellent 36 before being run out. Well done Casey, a very positive attitude in a hopeless situation.

KL are a very good team but boy did we make their life easy!
