Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 10 Red v Tring Park on Wed 28 Apr 2010 at 6pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost Tring won by 34 runs

Match report The first league game of the U10Bs saw a fairly even contest between two enthusiastic sides. BCC won the toss and opted to bat first but Conroy and Cooper were unable to make much of a start against some tight Tring bowling. However BCC finally got runs on the board after a solid second partnership between Nittur and Tougher (making his debut) who put on 23 for no loss. However the momentum swung back in Tring’s favour after an inspired spell of bowling from Munt taking two wickets in two balls. Fortunately for BCC the hat-trick was avoided! BCC’s final pair, despite some fine batting by Lawlor, was unable to penetrate the field and so BCC finished on 226 for 6.

BCC had to bowl and field well if they were to contain Tring and the boys all took to their task well. Plenty of energy from all and some fine fielding kept the Tring run chase in check. In particular the bowling pair of Cooper and Lawlor performed well and they were unlucky not to pick up some wickets. The pick of the BCC bowlers though was O’Gorman who bowled a good line, length and pace and was unfortunate not to bag wickets too. In the end the lack of wickets proved to the difference in the two sides.
