Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 9 Red v Kings Langley on Tue 11 May 2010 at 6pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Won BCC won by 13 runs

Match report Typically cold weather greeted our boys who decided to bat first & ran up a very good total of 255 for 2. Tom Lewis and Joe Drury opened the batting and set the tone of a winning performance with a creditable total of well taken runs. Alfie and Charlie then came in and blitzed the bowling with a great stand of 22 (Alfie top scoring for the team on the day). Very solid partnerships from Nathan and James Weller & Will Gardener and Tom Meacock gave Berko a good score to defend, as the air cooled and fielding became more difficult.

Tom Meacock and Will Gardener opened the bowling and did so beautifully keeping the KL openers down to just 6 runs in 4 overs! This gave the team confidence to push on and Charlie Mann and Alfie managed to contain two excellent Kings Langley batsman with tight, disciplined bowling. This was followed by yet another 4 overs of tight Berko bowling (this time by Joe Drury and Tom Lewis) leaving Nathan and James to mop-up the remaining resistance from a spirited Kings Langley side.

Excellent individual displays complemented a solid team performance to make it 2 out 2 victories in the league so far. Onwards & upwards lads!
