Berkhamsted Cricket Club Under 15B v Chorleywood on Thu 02 Jul 2009 at 6pm
Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost Chorleywood won by 1 run

Match report A superb match but HOW DID WE LOSE? !!!

Chorleywood piled on the runs when they batted first - the outfield very quick in the bright sunshine and hot conditions. Only James Lagdon with an excellent spell of offspin (4-0-20-3) managed to put the brakes on and sadly our old habits of bowling lots of wides and no balls (29 in all)came back to haunt us.

Chasing 138 to win we put in our best batting performance of the season, with Adam Cowland cracking a blistering 30 with 6 fours and Calum Alexander also retiring on 31 with 5 fours. With James Lagdon (23 n.o) and Ben Rochford also batting well it looked like victory was going to be ours. Just 20 runs were needed off the last 4 overs but a crucial run out left us needing 7 off the last over (or 6 to tie). Sadly we only managed 5 runs leaving Ch'Wood victors by the slenderest of margins.
