Match report In a tense finish, Jacob (46*) saw the Development XI home in a helter skelter partnership with Niloy (9*) to claim victory with a ball to spare. With rain interruptions reducing the game to 37 overs per side, Dave (24) and Jacob set a decent base but 2 wickets in an over bought in Puds (22) who hit 4 fours and a six to get us to half way before a one-handed over head catch saw John (17) come to the crease. Again, the scoreboard was ticking over with good running but another 2 wickets in an over put Berko on the back foot. Oli came in and again the running and striking was good before a risk too far saw Oli run out. Niloy joined Jacob with 15 needed off 3 overs, 8 off 2 and 5 off the last but sensible batting and cheeky running saw the side home. Jacob was denied his 50 but deserved all the plaudits for carrying the team to victory.

Earlier, Dave had inserted the oppo who got off to a bit of a flyer and were 60 odd for 0 before Jake weaved his magic. Tim, Puds and John all took good catches to give Jake 3-27 and with John chipping in with 1-16 off his 6 overs the middle of the innings belonged to Berko. Either side of the second rain break, Oli snaffled 4 wickets for just 16 runs with catches being taken all around the field. Dipesh came back to remove the danger man Bipin who appeared on a one man crusade to lose balls but overall it was a good performance in the field with very few boundaries given away and catches taken.

A deserved victory against the side placed second in the league and looking for promotion.
