Match report After the joy of not having to play at Queens School, the mood quickly changed when the Berko openers were peppered with beamers, balls flying over the head off a length or shooters from the same spot...and it didn't get any better. Dave and Jacob set the platform for Brownie to score another 50 and a cameo from Simsy saw Berko reach a competitive 170/8. A fab tea and a bit of footie put Berko in the mood and Jess set the tone with 3 wickets (despite 2 dropped catches in her second over). OC & Jess bowled straight to have Bushey 4 wickets down in no time, Mark hobbled in off 2 paces to keep it tight (and no Mark you can not bowl on this every week if I have to bat on it!!!!) . Jake bowled well until being taken for 23 in his last over but Olli Todd then dismantled the lower order to give Berko a decisive victory against the league leaders after OC had snaffled a couple in his last over.

This was a good victory for the development XI (does having 6 over 50s count as a development XI) if you focus on Jess & Olli & Jake. Brownie was instrumental in setting a target and Mark did well to bowl off a few paces after suffering more angle damage. The biggest round of applause must go to Matt who was shot by a sniper, decided it was boring watching with an ice pack and came back to snaffle a catch at slip (bandit) and to Ross who 24 hours earlier was planning on sitting on the decking with a beer. A good team performance
