Match report The Saturday 2s made it three league wins out of three with a hard earned victory away to Knebworth III.

Losing the Toss, we were asked to field on what appeared to be a good wicket with short boundaries and fast outfield, our target was to restrict the opposition to a score of 200.

The wicket however wasnt that great, a number of balls staying very low and occasionally some popping. So it was no great suprise that Darren James managed to bag a hatful of wickets with his consistent line and length, Darren bowled throughout the innings showing great fitness and ended with figures of 7-54!! Paul Langley and Dave Sherjan also managed a wicket a piece to eventually dismiss the Knebworth side for 161 in 52 overs.

Our reply started briskly, but with the score on 50-0 after 7 overs we then started to lose wickets at very regular intervals making the run chase alot harder than it should have been. Tom Scott battled well in mid innings on his debut for the 2s, but the star of the show was Darren James smashing 26 in 18 balls, ably supported by Tim Sims who hit the shot of the day before seeing the side to victory with 4 leg byes with only one wicket in hand!!

Overall a good win, the area to improve is our batting consistency, lets do it in next weeks game at Home, yes, at Home to Langleybury II.
