Match report A strong Fourth XI engaged 3rd placed Broxbourne in a hard fought battle that saw the batters take advantage of one of Puddles' best tracks. Steve Wale brought his Dad (Peter) into the team to watch him show total respect for the tight bowling to accumulate 50, whilst Julian Dent took the aggressive role striking 76, coming in after Boris fell early on, in a partnership worth 135. However Dale Edwards showed them both how to hit the ball, racing to 46. As we reached and passed maximum batting points, we lost a few quick wickets to finish on 230 for 7.

Broxbourne opened with intent, clouting any bad balls to the boundary and were up with the run chase until losing their opener to Martin Ledger, hitting one too many across the line. With a blinding catch at point, Steve Wale turned Ollie Campbell's rank long hop into a wicket taking ball (matched later by a backwards running catch from David Westley) to remove the other opener. At this point, Broxbourne settled for a draw and played out the remaining overs knocking easy runs past the aggressive field to finish on 188 for 4. Berko 14 points, Broxbourne 5.
