Match report Toss won, we opted to bat and a tight start by the St Albans bowlers meant that the initial run rate was fairly slow. Peter was out for 5 and Ethan came in and looked good only to run himself out in a silly manner. Josh had started well but was caught for 20. Dan bedded himself in well and waited for the bad ball from the change bowlers. Once Stephen came in at the fall of the 5th wicket they started to milk the runs and put on a good big partnership to set a good total. Dan ended up on a highly deserved half century.

In reply, St Albans started well and aggressively and it wasn't working for Ethan and Harry as the openers, so Pete switched to Matt and Will and it paid dividends immediately. Will was pinning them down with accurate pacy bowling while Matt was nagging with straight ones at the other end and soon started breaking through. 4 wickets for Matt and 1 for Will left them in trouble and us in a good place.

Martin and Charlie came on with their twirlers and the 6th wicket partnership milked it with good sensible batting to start to put us under pressure. Charlie got the main run maker though and bringing back Harry paid dividends with 2 more wickets and now it was swinging back to us with about 30 needed off the last 5 but their last few batsmen in. Bringing Ethan back finished off the last couple of wickets for a 15 run win.

A good match and excellent team performance with special mention for Josh's very tidy 3 catches in the covers enabling us to take the wickets when needed.
