Match report A game that we could have won but for some sunshine madness at the crease and in the field.
We won the toss and opted to bat and despite an early couple of wickets, it looked like we might post a reasonable score but for the second match in a row we managed to run out the batsman in form (Christian 16) with some woeful calling. Kian and Toby (12) tried to steady the ship but 3 more run outs meant we were never really in the game and posted a mean 63 all out.
All was not lost though and we have defended a 68 before now so all to play for. 3 early wickets and we were right back in the game and with the run rate gradually falling behind the required, BCC started to believe they could win. Unfortunately a golden opportunity to run out their one classy batsman went begging (twice), and despite grabbing his wicket late on, the game ran away from the boys and Bushey limped over the line with 9 balls to spare.
Running between the wickets and keeping focused (and calm) in the field was the only difference between the sides. The boys showed some true grit to make a game of it so well done!
