Match report Back to Cockfosters AGAIN for the 2nd time this season, this time to play their 4th XI and it's feeling more like a home game than at Berko, with so few home games and so many rained off this season.

With both teams safe, it's a relatively relaxed game and we win the toss and decide to let them set a target to chase - going for glory.

All the bowlers deliver the goods and we work our way through a 10 man batting order. Bad wicket of the day is an OC long hop which balloons up in the air off a weird pitch and softly lands on the stumps over a crossed batted swipe from the bemused batsman. The target is 104 to win in 54 overs.

Peter and Andre work hard to see off a good opening pair of bowlers who know their wicket well. One bowling short of a length and using the trampoline bounce at one end and the other aiming outside off stump to make use of deviation frequently encountered. After 13 overs it is 13-0.

Andre departs plumb LBW and Peter to a catch in the covers off a wide ball. james and mark take over to flagging bowling and a wearing ball and make full use to get the run rate going with lovely shots. When they are out we are well past half way through the runs. Nick goes first ball, but Peps steadies the batting whilst Rob picks off the bad balls and knocks off the runs for a well deserved win where everyone contribute well.

Well done all, on to the last game of the season at home.
