Match report A very tired performance by Berko resulted in our 4th defeat in 5 matches this season. With 6 of the lads playing 4 hours of house cricket in the afternoon a rather weary team took to the field at 6pm to face West Herts. The game started sensationally with a wicket for Josh Roberts with the first ball of the game and we soon reduced West Herts to 4 for 3 however Habhyankar and Hancock repaired the damage helped by 3 more dropped catches to add to our growing tally this season so that West Herts managed to set a reasonable target of 104 to win.

On a fast outfield and with our depth in batting that should have been a comfortable ask but against very straight bowling our innings spluttered along and after 10 overs we had only got to 36. Josh Roberts did everything he could to get us up to the run rate but was consistently denied the strike by his partners who favoured the big shots rather than rotating the strike. We arrived at the last over needing 10 to win, then 6 off the last 4 with 3 wickets in hand but excellent death bowling by Tom Durn who finished with the remarkable figures of 4-0-19-6 completed the job for West Herts whose ground fielding and catching was of the highest quality.
