Invitation to join the 50 Club at Berkhamsted Cricket Club
Action shots from our Schools Festival - 11 teams from the local primary schools got to try out their new skills acquired through our coaching program
Berkhamsted Cricket Club invites you to join its 50Club – at least fifty members contributing £50 each per year - and help it to fulfil its role as a club that develops cricket within the town.
The aim of the 50Club is to fund the Cricket Club in sending coaches into the local primary, middle and secondary schools to provide cricket coaching at no cost to the schools. At present the Club commits £1,500 a year to this initiative which enables it to reach four primary schools and mount a festival in July in which all the local schools participate. We would like to expand this activity to reach all the local schools. Unless we do this, children at these schools will have no opportunity to learn how to play cricket as part of their school sports.
We provide the qualified coaches and the equipment to run the sessions, both during curriculum time and at after-school clubs. We work with the Extra Cover Trust to set up written agreements with each school, schedule the sessions and manage the coaches, who come from our own Club. We encourage the children that show interest to come along and join the Cricket Club to develop their skills further and enjoy competitive cricket.
As a member of the 50Club, you will be welcomed to all our social events and activities, plus of course all the benefits of being a member of one of the most active cricket clubs in the county.
We hope to see you down at the clubhouse, watching cricket (almost every day of the summer there is a match in the evenings as well as both days of the weekend), and possibly meeting some of our future stars, whose first steps in the game are being made possible by you
