Berkhamsted Cricket Club Lost By 45 runs

Match report NE won the toss and elected to bat first in the glorious sunshine. Berko took the field with a proper development XI with 2 U15s, 3 U16s and an U18 and it was Charlie and Josh who made early in roads to have NE 20 odd for 3. The middle order rallied despite some tight bowling by Vinit but with Jake and Alfie picking up a couple of wickets each NE were 140/8. A few lusty blows and a poor final 6 overs saw NE rally to 195. Charlie was the pick on his debut with 3-26.

In reply, Pete (28) and Steve (19) put on 50 for the first wicket but neither could go on to anchor the innings which stalled in the middle overs against some good spin. Oscar made 23 and some lusty blows from Simsy & Vinit made the score respectable.

Lots of good things but lots to learn too - in other words a team in development learning the art playing against decent opposition.
